Role Summary
The Affordable Housing Investment & Asset Management professionals will support the strategy, execution, and oversight of real estate assets and investment activities within LaSalle’s Affordable Housing platform. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for portfolio oversight, transaction execution, and asset performance across a national portfolio. Responsibilities may include evaluating investment opportunities, managing asset operations, executing transactions, and supporting fund-level strategy and investor engagement.
This requisition covers multiple roles across Portfolio Management, Transactions/Originations, and Asset Management. Candidates will be considered for the position that best aligns with their experience.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary depending on assignment—Portfolio Management, Transactions, or Asset Management—but may include:
Investment & Transaction Support
- Evaluate and analyze potential real estate acquisitions using financial models, market research, and underwriting assumptions.
- Prepare and review investment memoranda and present recommendations to internal investment committees.
- Manage or support acquisition pipelines, due diligence, and execution of transactions (acquisitions, financings, and dispositions).
- Partner with internal teams—including finance, legal, and asset management—to ensure seamless closing and transition of assets.
Portfolio & Asset Performance
- Monitor the financial and operational performance of assets or portfolios, reviewing budgets, financial statements, capital plans, and compliance obligations.
- Conduct ongoing property valuations, assess market positioning, and recommend strategies to maximize value (e.g., hold/sell analysis, capital planning, operational improvements).
- Manage relationships with third‑party property managers and ensure alignment with performance goals and contractual requirements.
- Oversee or contribute to risk‑management processes, including review of capital expenditures, reserve withdrawals, construction milestones, lease‑up progress, and financial reporting.
Strategy, Research & Reporting
- Maintain strong knowledge of real estate trends, competitive dynamics, market research, and affordable housing programs.
- Contribute to fund strategy through analytics, market insights, impact measurement, and long‑term planning.
- Prepare materials and reporting for internal management, investors, lenders, or regulatory stakeholders.
- Support or lead impact initiatives, reporting standards, and relationships with industry partners (e.g., nonprofit partners, energy/water efficiency providers).
Investor Relations & Fund Support
- Partner with the fund management team to support capital raising, performance reporting, advisory committee meetings, and investor requests (DDQs, RFPs, ad hoc queries).
- Participate in investor meetings, conferences, and other external engagements representing LaSalle’s Affordable Housing platform.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate across departments—including originations, asset management, finance, legal, compliance, and construction.
- Depending on seniority, lead project teams or manage staff, providing coaching, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, workflows, and data management across the platform.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications are generalized to accommodate candidates across multiple roles.
- 7–15 years of experience in U.S. affordable housing, spanning one or more of the following:
- Portfolio Management
- Transactions / Originations / Acquisitions
- Asset Management
- Impact / ESG reporting in housing
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to interpret asset‑level and portfolio‑level performance.
- Proven experience working with regulated and/or unregulated affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD programs a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership or investment committees.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally or manage senior‑level stakeholders.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
- Flexibility to work across time zones and adapt to changing business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (CPA, JD, CFA) beneficial but not required.
Preferred Qualities
- Experience managing or executing affordable housing transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, financing).
- Background in portfolio strategy, fund management, or performance reporting.
- Experience overseeing or optimizing property operations through third‑party management.
- Familiarity with impact measurement frameworks or ESG reporting.
- Ability to build systems, processes, or data platforms to improve workflow efficiency.

The salary range for this position is dependent on experience, location, and appropriate market data. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus subject to the terms and conditions of the LaSalle Bonus program.

Estimated compensation for this position:
300,000.00 – 300,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
