Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting Credit Officers on a daily basis in the underwriting, monitoring, and management of their portfolios. Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end processes involving credit underwriting, ongoing monitoring, and portfolio management of financing, treasury management, and traded products transactions. Job expectations include acting as a primary liaison with the credit teams, operations, and other business partners.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates pre- and post-closing activities which may include due diligence activities, creation of approval documents, and interaction with operations
Monitors requirements by creating and clearing monitoring ticklers and sourcing required financial statements and other documents per the terms of the credit agreement or other documentation
Identifies and resolves data quality issues
Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency
Understands policy and procedures and ensures compliance
Required Qualifications:
2 years of direct experience supporting commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management, with responsibility for managing work independently and across multiple stakeholders
Working knowledge of credit guidelines and lending procedures, with demonstrated ability to apply policy, identify issues, and ensure compliance without close supervision
Hands‑on experience using credit underwriting and risk systems to review, validate, and maintain accurate credit data, including resolving data quality issues as they arise
Experience reviewing and verifying commercial credit documentation, including identifying discrepancies, coordinating corrections, and confirming final documentation aligns with approved terms
Solid understanding of commercial lending products, including loans, treasury management, and traded products, and how they impact credit structure and ongoing monitoring requirements
Experience performing ongoing portfolio monitoring, such as tracking covenants, managing ticklers, and obtaining required financial statements and documentation in line with credit agreements
Desired Qualifications:
Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple credits, deadlines, and monitoring requirements simultaneously
Demonstrated organizational skills in maintaining accurate credit files, tracking documentation, and meeting ongoing monitoring obligations
Experience managing a commercial credit portfolio, including prioritization of risk items and follow‑up with partners to resolve open issues
Comfort identifying process gaps and contributing ideas to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in credit support activities
