We are organizing our work through strategic segments – Insurance, Retirement and Financial Intermediaries – and need segment leaders who can connect products, partners and insights to measurable results in each market.
As a Segment Leader, you will own the strategy, product and partnership agenda for your assigned segment. You will define and execute segment‑level strategies, align product menus and fund lineups to business goals, and translate investment capabilities into solutions that create value for customers, NF businesses and IMG. You will be the primary IMG contact for NF product and distribution leaders in your segment and will lead a team responsible for investment consulting, product strategy, wholesaler enablement and performance measurement.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute the segment strategy, including product development, fund adoption and acquisition, vehicle expansion, pricing strategies and product/menu changes that improve competitiveness and profitability for the segment.
Connect projects and activities (for example, fund substitutions, managed account initiatives, fund adoptions and pricing work) explicitly to segment‑level financial and client outcomes.
Develop and maintain segment scorecards and KPIs – including sales, AUM, net flows, PTOI and other metrics such as retention, penetration and profitability – and use them to show progress on segment goals and to inform business performance reviews.
Create segment‑appropriate product strategies focused on investment experience, marketability, profitability and business contribution for each IMG product available to that segment.
Develop and execute multi‑year strategies to increase adoption of IMG funds and solutions, improve profitability for IMG and NF businesses, and improve net flows within each market segment.
Serve as the primary IMG contact for NF product and distribution teams in the assigned segment, handling all investment‑related requests and translating them into clear recommendations and actions.

Provide training, content and enablement to partner teams (for example, Retirement Solutions (RS), Institutional Investment Distribution (IID), Nationwide Securities (NSLLC), Strategic Account Management (SAM) and other NF partners) so they can effectively position IMG solutions and tell a consistent investment story in the segment.
Bring segment‑specific insights and thought leadership – including market trends, asset manager views, competitive dynamics and performance context – that help NF partners and external clients understand and use IMG solutions.
Build and maintain segment dashboards and views of leading and lagging indicators, such as pipeline, menu placement, performance, penetration and governance health, to support decisions and tell a clear performance story.
Lead and develop a high‑performing team of directors, consultants and analysts, providing regular coaching, feedback and development support across IMG and NF.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive and change‑ready culture that emphasizes business ownership, accountability, data‑driven decisions and continuous improvement.
Ensure the team demonstrates deep knowledge of investment products and markets, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to partner effectively across IMG, NF businesses and external firms.
